Mark the spot where the anchor will go
Check for studs, wires, and pipes before drilling
Choose the correct anchor type for the wall and load
Drill a hole the same size as the anchor
Clear dust from the hole
Insert the anchor into the hole
Tap the anchor gently until it is flush with the wall
Drive or tighten the anchor if required by its type
Place the item against the wall
Insert the screw through the item and into the anchor
Tighten the screw until secure
Do not overtighten
