Turn off the faucet
Cover the aerator with a cloth
Grip the aerator with pliers or use an aerator key
Turn counterclockwise to loosen
Unscrew by hand once it is loose
Remove the aerator and gasket
Clean or replace the parts as needed
Reinstall by turning clockwise if desired
