Turn off the water supply to the spigot
Open the spigot to drain any remaining water
Disconnect any hose attached to the spigot
Remove the handle if needed
Remove the old spigot from the pipe or wall fitting
Clean the threads or connection area
Apply plumber’s tape or pipe joint compound to the new spigot threads if required
Install the new spigot and tighten securely
Reconnect any fittings or adapters
Turn the water supply back on
Check for leaks
Tighten connections if necessary
Replace any insulation or exterior cover if used
