How To Replace Fuel Filter?

Park the vehicle on a level surface and turn off the engine

Set the parking brake and disconnect the negative battery terminal if required

Relieve fuel system pressure according to the vehicle service procedure

Locate the fuel filter

Raise and support the vehicle if the filter is underneath

Place a drain pan under the fuel filter

Disconnect the fuel lines from the filter

Remove any retaining clips, bolts, or brackets

Remove the old fuel filter

Install the new fuel filter in the correct flow direction

Reattach the retaining clips, bolts, or brackets

Reconnect the fuel lines securely

Reinstall any covers or shields

Reconnect the negative battery terminal if disconnected

Turn the ignition key to the ON position without starting the engine

Check for fuel leaks

Start the engine and inspect again for leaks

Lower the vehicle if raised
