How to Repot Aloe?

Water the aloe lightly 1–2 days before repotting

Choose a pot with drainage holes that is 1–2 inches wider than the current pot

Use a well-draining cactus or succulent potting mix

Gently remove the aloe from its current pot

Loosen old soil from the roots

Trim any dead, mushy, or rotten roots with clean scissors

Separate offsets or pups if desired

Place a small layer of fresh soil in the new pot

Set the aloe in the center at the same soil level as before

Fill around the roots with fresh soil

Keep the crown above the soil line

Press the soil lightly to stabilize the plant

Do not bury the leaves

Wait 3–7 days before watering after repotting

Place the repotted aloe in bright, indirect light

Resume normal watering only when the soil is completely dry

Avoid fertilizing for a few weeks after repotting
