Turn the thermostat off
Remove the thermostat from the wall plate if needed
Open the battery compartment if your model uses batteries
Remove the batteries
Wait 30 seconds to 1 minute
Reinsert the batteries
Reattach the thermostat to the wall plate if removed
Turn the thermostat back on
If your model has a reset option in the menu, open Menu or Settings
Select Reset
Choose Factory Reset or Restore Defaults
Confirm the reset
Reconfigure the date, time, and schedule after resetting
If the thermostat is unresponsive, turn off power to the HVAC system at the breaker for 30 seconds, then restore power
