How to Roast a Rump Roast?

Preheat the oven to 325°F

Pat the rump roast dry with paper towels

Season all sides generously with salt, black pepper, and any desired herbs or spices

Heat oil in a large oven-safe skillet or roasting pan over medium-high heat

Sear the roast on all sides until browned

Place the roast fat side up in the pan or on a rack in a roasting pan

Insert a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the roast

Roast in the oven until the desired internal temperature is reached

Remove from the oven and tent loosely with foil

Let the roast rest for 15 to 20 minutes

Slice thinly against the grain

Serve immediately
