Preheat the grill to medium-high heat
Peel back the husks if using fresh corn, then remove the silk
Pull the husks back over the corn or leave the corn husked for direct grilling
Soak husked corn in water for 10 to 15 minutes if desired
Brush the corn lightly with oil or melted butter
Place the corn on the grill
Turn the corn every 2 to 3 minutes
Grill until lightly charred and tender, about 10 to 15 minutes
Remove from the grill
Season with salt, pepper, butter, or other toppings if desired
