Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C)
Cut the top off a garlic bulb to expose the cloves
Place the bulb on a piece of foil
Drizzle with olive oil
Sprinkle with a little salt if desired
Wrap the garlic tightly in the foil
Place on a baking sheet
Roast for 35 to 45 minutes
Check for soft, golden-brown cloves
Let it cool slightly
Squeeze the roasted cloves out of the skin
Use as desired
