Place a bamboo sushi mat on a clean surface
Put a sheet of nori on the mat, shiny side down
Spread a thin layer of sushi rice over the nori
Leave a small border at the top edge
Add fillings in a line near the bottom edge
Lift the mat edge closest to you
Roll the nori and rice over the fillings tightly
Continue rolling while pressing gently to keep it firm
Seal the edge with a little water if needed
Shape the roll evenly with the mat
Slice the roll with a sharp wet knife
