Place salmon skin-side down on the baking sheet
Brush or drizzle with olive oil or melted butter
Season with salt and black pepper
Add optional seasonings such as garlic, lemon, dill, paprika, or herbs
Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, depending on thickness
Check for doneness when salmon flakes easily with a fork
Remove from oven and let rest for 2 to 3 minutes
Serve with lemon wedges if desired
