Open Google Maps on a computer
Search for a location, route, or area
Click the menu icon in the top-left
Select Terrain
Zoom in to see contour lines and elevation changes
Right-click a point on the map and select What’s here?
Check the coordinates and use an elevation lookup tool if needed
On mobile, use Google Maps to view terrain indirectly by searching for hiking or outdoor areas
Use Google Earth for detailed elevation and 3D terrain views
