Redirect biting to an appropriate chew toy immediately
Stop play and remove attention the moment biting starts
Use a firm, calm “ouch” or “no bite” once, then disengage
Avoid rough play that encourages mouthing
Reward gentle mouth behavior with praise or treats
Keep training sessions short and consistent
Provide plenty of exercise and mental stimulation
Rotate chew toys to keep them interesting
Teach and reinforce basic commands like “sit” and “leave it”
Use timeouts if biting continues during play
Make sure the puppy is not overtired or overstimulated
Socialize the puppy with other vaccinated dogs and people
Prevent access to hands, feet, and loose clothing during play
Seek help from a professional trainer if biting is severe or persistent
