Grip the ball with your index and middle fingers slightly off-center toward the outside seam
Place your thumb underneath for support and control
Hold the ball like a fastball, but shift finger pressure slightly to the cutter side
Keep your wrist firm and straight
Use a fastball arm slot and arm speed
Release the ball with slight pressure from the index finger side
Stay behind the ball and avoid excessive wrist twist
Throw it with the same motion as your fastball
Aim for a firm, controlled throw rather than trying to force movement
Practice at reduced intensity before throwing it at full speed
