Rest
Drink plenty of fluids

Use a cool-mist humidifier
Suction mucus from the nose, especially in infants
Keep the head slightly elevated when resting if appropriate
Avoid smoke and other irritants
Wash hands often and limit contact with others to prevent spread
Monitor for breathing trouble, dehydration, or worsening symptoms
Seek medical care for infants, older adults, or people with high-risk conditions
Get emergency care for severe trouble breathing, blue lips, confusion, or signs of dehydration
Use oxygen, IV fluids, or breathing support if prescribed by a clinician
Take antiviral treatment only if specifically prescribed for severe cases or high-risk patients
