Open the Messages app
Tap your profile icon or the three-dot menu
Go to Messages settings
Tap RCS chats or Chat features
Turn off RCS chats or Chat features
Confirm if prompted
If needed, turn off Chat features on each device using the same phone number
If you are switching to a new phone, disable RCS before removing the SIM or changing devices
