Blow your nose gently
Use a saline nasal spray
Rinse your nose with a saline solution
Inhale steam from a hot shower
Use a humidifier
Drink plenty of fluids
Sleep with your head elevated
Apply a warm compress to your face
Avoid smoke and strong irritants
Try an over-the-counter decongestant if appropriate
Try an antihistamine if allergies are the cause
Rest as much as possible
Seek medical care if symptoms are severe or persistent
