Gather the caulk gun, caulk tube, utility knife, and a rag
Cut the caulk tube tip at a 45-degree angle
Puncture the inner seal of the tube
Load the tube into the caulk gun
Pull the rod back and place the tube in the frame
Push the rod forward until it rests against the tube
Squeeze the trigger slowly to start the flow
Apply steady pressure while moving the gun along the joint
Keep the nozzle at a consistent angle
Release the trigger at the end of the bead
Smooth the caulk with a finger or caulk tool if needed
Wipe away excess caulk immediately
Release the rod pressure to stop the flow
Remove the empty tube when finished
Clean the gun and store it properly
