Strip the bed and remove all bedding
Blot up as much urine as possible with clean paper towels or a dry cloth
Mix a small amount of mild laundry detergent with cold water
Lightly dampen a clean cloth with the solution and blot the stained area
Do not soak the mattress
Blot with a clean dry towel to remove moisture
Sprinkle baking soda over the damp area
Let the baking soda sit for several hours
Vacuum the baking soda off the mattress
If odor remains, spray a light mixture of white vinegar and water on the area
Blot again with a dry towel
Let the mattress air-dry completely
Use a fan or open windows to speed drying
Repeat if needed after the mattress is fully dry
Use a mattress protector to prevent future stains
