Detangle gently before washing
Dilute shampoo with water in a spray bottle or applicator bottle
Section the braids
Apply the diluted shampoo to the scalp
Massage the scalp gently with fingertips
Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water
Repeat on buildup-prone areas if needed
Squeeze out excess water from the braids
Apply conditioner lightly to the braids if desired
Rinse conditioner out well
Pat braids dry with a microfiber towel or T-shirt
Air-dry completely
Dry the scalp with a hooded dryer or cool blow-dryer setting if needed
Oil the scalp lightly only if necessary
Avoid heavy products and rough scrubbing
