Unplug the washing machine
Turn off the water supply
Remove all clothes from the drum
Wipe the drum with a damp cloth
Clean the detergent drawer
Remove and rinse the lint filter or pump filter
Clean the door seal or gasket
Wipe the exterior surfaces
Run an empty hot wash cycle with washing machine cleaner or vinegar
Run an extra rinse cycle if needed
Leave the door open to dry
Leave the detergent drawer open to dry
