Check that the thermostat has power

Set the fan mode to Auto or On
Adjust the temperature up or down
Wait for the system to respond
Use the schedule settings if your model has them
Change the time and date if needed
Replace batteries if the display is blank or weak
Reset the thermostat if it is not working properly
