Turn off the shower water
Remove any visible cap, stopper, or cover
Look for a central screw and unscrew it counterclockwise
Lift the drain plug straight up
Twist the plug gently if it is stuck
Use pliers with a cloth for grip if needed
Remove any retaining clip or linkage under the stopper if present
Pull out the plug assembly carefully
Clean the drain opening after removal
Reinstall by reversing the steps if needed
