Park on a level surface and let the engine cool
Place a drain pan under the oil filter area
Put on gloves
Locate the oil filter
Turn the filter counterclockwise to loosen it
If it is tight, use an oil filter wrench
If needed, puncture the filter with a filter removal tool and turn it counterclockwise
Once loose, unscrew it by hand
Keep the filter upright to reduce oil spill
Remove the filter and set it aside for proper disposal
