Gather yarn, scissors, and two cardboard circles or a pom-pom maker
Cut two matching cardboard circles with a hole in the center and a small slit to the edge
Place the circles together
Wrap yarn around the circles through the center hole until thick and full
Cut the yarn along the outer edge between the two cardboard circles
Tie a separate piece of yarn tightly around the middle between the cardboard circles
Remove the cardboard circles
Trim the pom pom into a neat round shape
Fluff the yarn ball with your fingers
Repeat to make more pom pom balls
