Blow your nose gently
Use a saline nasal spray
Rinse with a saline nasal rinse or neti pot
Drink plenty of water
Use a humidifier
Take a steamy shower
Avoid smoke, dust, and strong odors
Sleep with your head elevated
Use a warm compress over your nose and face
Try over-the-counter decongestants if appropriate
Try over-the-counter antihistamines if allergies are the cause
Rest as much as possible
See a doctor if symptoms are severe, persistent, or worsening
