Wear a helmet and protective gear

Choose a flat, open area with no traffic

Use a bike with working brakes and proper tire pressure

Shift to a low or medium gear

Sit on the saddle and keep both hands on the handlebars

Pedal at a steady moderate speed

Pull up on the handlebars while pushing down on the pedals

Shift your body weight slightly backward

Keep your arms relaxed and your core engaged

Use small pedal strokes to maintain balance

Feather the rear brake to prevent tipping too far back

Keep your eyes forward, not down at the front wheel

Practice lifting the front wheel a little at a time

Repeat until you can hold the front wheel up briefly

Stop immediately if you feel unstable or lose control
