Keep the child lying on their side or sitting upright
Offer small sips of clear fluids every 5 to 10 minutes
Use oral rehydration solution if available
Stop solid foods for a short time if vomiting is frequent
Restart bland foods slowly when vomiting has stopped
Avoid greasy, spicy, or heavy foods
Avoid milk, soda, and fruit juice until the child improves
Keep the child calm and rested
Give only medicines approved by a doctor
Do not give aspirin to children
Seek urgent medical care if the child has signs of dehydration
Seek urgent medical care if vomit is green, bloody, or looks like coffee grounds
Seek urgent medical care if the child has severe belly pain, stiff neck, confusion, or trouble breathing
Seek urgent medical care if the child is very sleepy, hard to wake, or has a seizure

Seek urgent medical care if the child is under 3 months old
