Disconnect the negative battery cable
Remove the steering column covers or trim panels
Locate the ignition switch on the steering column or ignition lock housing
Unplug the electrical connector from the ignition switch
Remove any retaining screws, bolts, or clips
Slide or lift the old ignition switch out
Align the new ignition switch in the same position
Install and tighten the retaining screws, bolts, or clips
Reconnect the electrical connector
Reinstall the steering column covers or trim panels
Reconnect the negative battery cable
Test the ignition switch with the key or start button
Verify that all ignition positions and accessories work properly
