Choose a healthy Christmas cactus stem with 2 to 5 segments
Twist or cut off the segment at a joint
Let the cutting dry and callus for 1 to 2 days
Fill a small pot with well-draining cactus or succulent mix
Moisten the soil lightly
Insert the callused end about 1 inch deep into the soil
Keep the cutting in bright, indirect light
Maintain warm temperatures
Water sparingly until roots form
Keep the soil slightly moist, not wet
Wait 2 to 6 weeks for rooting
Gently tug to check for resistance
Transplant into a larger pot after new growth appears
