Prune after flowering
Use clean, sharp scissors or pruning shears
Remove dead, damaged, or diseased segments
Cut back overlong stems to the desired length
Trim at the joint between stem segments
Remove up to one-third of the plant at a time
Pinch off tips to encourage branching
Keep cuttings to propagate if desired
Avoid pruning during budding or blooming
Discard any unhealthy cut material
