Turn off the water supply to the faucet
Plug the drain to prevent losing small parts
Remove the faucet handle
Take off the trim plate or escutcheon
Inspect the cartridge, stem, washer, O-rings, and seals
Replace any worn, cracked, or damaged parts
Clean mineral buildup from the faucet components
Reassemble the faucet
Turn the water supply back on
Test for leaks and tighten connections if needed
