How to Get Sink Stopper Out?

Remove any visible debris around the stopper

Lift the stopper handle or knob if present

Twist the stopper counterclockwise if it is threaded

Pull the stopper straight up while gently wiggling it

Press down and release the stopper if it is a push-pull type

Unscrew the pivot rod nut under the sink if it is a pop-up stopper

Slide the pivot rod out to free the stopper

Lift the stopper out from the drain opening

Use pliers with a cloth if the stopper is stuck

Apply a small amount of lubricant if needed

Clean the drain opening after removal
