Turn off the shower
Wrap a cloth around the shower head nut
Use an adjustable wrench or pliers
Turn counterclockwise to loosen
Apply penetrating oil if it is stuck
Wait a few minutes after applying oil
Tap lightly with a rubber mallet if needed
Hold the shower arm steady while turning
Remove the shower head by hand once loose
