Cut the zip tie with diagonal cutters, flush cutters, or scissors
Insert a small flathead screwdriver under the locking tab and lift while pulling the strap back
Use a zip tie removal tool to release the locking mechanism
For reusable zip ties, press the release tab and slide the tie open
If needed, snip the tie close to the lock to reduce sharp edges
Wear eye protection when cutting tight zip ties
Keep fingers clear of the cutting path
