Turn off power at the breaker
Verify the fixture is de-energized with a voltage tester
Remove the light cover and bulbs
Remove the fixture’s metal cover or channel to expose the ballast
Note the ballast model, wiring, and lamp type
Purchase a compatible replacement ballast
Disconnect the wires from the old ballast
Remove the old ballast from the fixture
Mount the new ballast in the same position
Reconnect the wires exactly as labeled or noted
Secure all wire connections with wire connectors
Reinstall the fixture cover and bulbs
Restore power at the breaker
Test the light fixture for proper operation
