Strip about 1/4 to 3/8 inch of insulation from each wire
Insert one wire end into each side of the butt connector
Make sure the wire strands are fully inside the metal barrel
Crimp each side of the connector with the correct crimping tool
Pull gently on each wire to confirm a secure connection
Use heat shrink butt connectors or add heat shrink tubing if needed
Heat the connector evenly if using heat shrink type
Inspect the connection for exposed copper or loose fit
Test the circuit after installation
Match the connector size to the wire gauge before use
