Open the hood and locate the air filter housing
Release the clips, screws, or latches on the air filter box
Remove the air filter cover
Take out the old air filter
Check the filter housing for dirt or debris
Clean the housing if needed
Insert the new air filter in the correct orientation
Reinstall the air filter cover
Secure the clips, screws, or latches
Close the hood
Start the car and confirm everything is properly fitted
