Let the engine cool completely
Park on a level surface or with the front slightly raised
Check the coolant level in the radiator and overflow tank
Remove the radiator cap or coolant reservoir cap if safe to do so
Fill the system with the correct coolant mixture
Open any bleed screws on the cooling system
Start the engine and set the heater to maximum heat
Let the engine idle until it reaches operating temperature
Watch for air bubbles escaping from the radiator or bleed screws
Add coolant as the level drops
Squeeze the upper radiator hose gently to help move trapped air
Close the bleed screws once only coolant flows out
Replace the radiator cap securely
Let the engine run until the cooling fan cycles on and off
Shut off the engine and let it cool again
Recheck coolant levels in the radiator and reservoir
Top off coolant if needed
Inspect for leaks and repeat the bleeding process if necessary
