Ensure the firearm is unloaded and pointed in a safe direction
Mount the scope securely and level it
Set the scope’s eye relief and reticle level
Start at a close distance such as 25 yards
Use a stable rest or sandbags
Fire a 3-shot group at the target center
Find the average point of impact
Adjust elevation to move impacts up or down
Adjust windage to move impacts left or right
Move the reticle in the direction needed to correct the group
Fire another 3-shot group
Repeat adjustments until the group is centered
Confirm zero at 50 or 100 yards as desired
Tighten all mounting screws to proper torque
Record your zero distance and ammunition used
