Let the motor cool completely
Remove the motor from the equipment if needed
Cover electrical terminals, wiring, and openings to prevent water entry
Brush off loose dirt, dust, and debris
Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth
Use mild soap and water on the outer surface only
Avoid soaking the motor
Do not spray water directly into vents, bearings, or electrical parts
Clean stubborn grime with a soft brush or cloth
Dry the motor thoroughly with a clean cloth
Use compressed air carefully to remove moisture from vents and crevices
Let the motor air-dry completely before reconnecting power
Inspect for damage, corrosion, or loose connections
Reinstall the motor only when fully dry
