Select a screw extractor that matches the size of the damaged screw
Center punch the broken or stripped screw
Drill a pilot hole into the screw using the recommended drill bit size
Insert the extractor into the drilled hole
Turn the extractor counterclockwise with a tap handle or wrench
Apply steady pressure while turning slowly
Continue turning until the screw begins to loosen
Remove the screw completely once it backs out
Clean the hole and threads after removal
Replace the screw with a new one if needed
