Gather supplies: car wash soap, microfiber mitts, buckets, wheel cleaner, brushes, microfiber towels, vacuum, interior cleaner, glass cleaner, clay bar, polish, wax or sealant
Park in shade and let the car cool
Remove loose items from the interior
Vacuum seats, carpets, floor mats, trunk, and crevices
Clean and condition interior surfaces as needed
Clean glass inside and out
Clean wheels, tires, wheel wells, and lug areas
Pre-rinse the exterior
Wash from top to bottom using the two-bucket method
Rinse thoroughly
Dry with clean microfiber towels or a blower
Clay the paint if needed
Polish paint to remove light defects
Apply wax or sealant
Clean and dress tires and trim
Detail door jambs, badges, and tight areas
Inspect for missed spots and touch up
Reinstall floor mats and organize the interior
