Choose the correct sharpener type for your knife
Place the sharpener on a stable, flat surface
Hold the sharpener firmly with one hand
Hold the knife handle securely with the other hand
Insert the knife blade into the sharpening slot or against the sharpening surface

Pull the blade through the slot or across the surface from heel to tip
Use light, even pressure
