Check for a touchpad function key on your keyboard, often one of the F keys with a touchpad icon
Press the touchpad toggle key, sometimes with the Fn key
Open Windows Settings
Go to Bluetooth & devices
Select Touchpad
Turn off the Touchpad switch
Open Control Panel
Select Mouse
Go to the Touchpad or Device Settings tab
Click Disable
Open Device Manager
Expand Mice and other pointing devices
Right-click the touchpad device
Select Disable device
Use your laptop manufacturer’s utility app if available
Check BIOS or UEFI settings for a touchpad option
Save changes and restart if required
