Remove the oven racks from the oven
Place the racks in a bathtub, large sink, or outdoor tub
Fill with hot water until the racks are submerged
Add dish soap or a degreasing cleaner
Let the racks soak for several hours or overnight
Scrub with a non-abrasive sponge, brush, or old toothbrush
Use baking soda paste on stubborn grease and baked-on residue
Rinse thoroughly with clean water
Dry completely with a towel
Let the racks air-dry fully before returning them to the oven
Repeat if needed for heavy buildup
