Start with a square sheet of paper
Fold it in half horizontally, then unfold
Cut or tear along the fold to make two rectangles
Take one rectangle and fold it in half lengthwise
Fold each corner of the rectangle inward toward the center line
Fold the top and bottom edges inward again to make two narrow strips
Fold one strip diagonally down and the other strip diagonally up to form two matching pieces
Repeat the same folds with the second rectangle, but mirror the direction
Place one piece over the other in a cross shape
Tuck the ends of each piece into the pockets of the other piece
Tighten the folds so the star locks together
Adjust the points so the ninja star lies flat
