Clean the male pipe threads
Hold the fitting with the threaded end facing you
Wrap the tape clockwise around the threads
Start at the second thread from the end
Overlap the tape slightly as you wrap
Apply 2 to 4 wraps, or more if needed for a snug fit
Press the tape into the threads as you finish wrapping
Tear or cut the tape cleanly
Screw the fitting together by hand
Tighten with a wrench as needed
Avoid over-tightening
