How to Check Water Pressure at Home?

Turn off all taps, showers, and water-using appliances

Find an outdoor hose bib or a faucet with a threaded spout

Attach a water pressure gauge to the faucet

Make sure the gauge is tightened securely by hand

Open the faucet fully

Read the pressure shown on the gauge

Record the reading in pounds per square inch (PSI)

Check multiple faucets if needed for comparison

Test at different times of day if pressure seems inconsistent

Compare the reading to the normal home water pressure range of 40 to 60 PSI

Turn off the faucet and remove the gauge after testing
