How To Brine Pork Chops?

Choose pork chops that are about 1 to 1.5 inches thick

Mix 4 cups water with 1/4 cup kosher salt

Add 2 tablespoons sugar if desired

Stir until the salt and sugar dissolve

Add optional flavorings such as garlic, peppercorns, bay leaves, or herbs

Submerge the pork chops completely in the brine

Refrigerate for 30 minutes to 4 hours

Remove the pork chops from the brine

Rinse lightly if needed

Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels

Cook the pork chops as desired
